Rastede / Westerstede / Oldenburg Liebe Leser,
in den meisten Ländern gehört die englische Sprache bereits zum Standard der Verständigung. Wir hinken da noch hinteher. Und im Interesse der Touristen, die unser Land besuchen, schreibe ich meine Infos zu diesem Album auf Englisch. Eine gute Übung für alle, die ihr Englisch wieder auffrischen wollen:
I visited the `Alte Brauerei´ in Pilsum
Plisum is a small village (Runddorf) with narrow streets and a lot of history. 
The village lies on an artificially laid-out cast. To this day, it can be seen that the village (Warftendorf) once was located at a sea cove. In the centre of the village is the 12th century cross-church consecrated to Saint Stephen. It is characterized by the fact that the tower – resting on crossing pillars – stands in the middle of the church. This design suggests Norman’s influence.
The organ
of the church was built in 1694 by Valentin Ulrich Grotian and is still largely original.
The baptismal pool
was poured 1469 by Hinrich Klinghe - a special treasure.
